The SeisOptŪ line of velocity optimization software is designed specifically for deriving
velocity models from seismic data acquired in areas characterized by strong
lateral velocity gradients and extreme variations in topography. Using
only travel-time or amplitude data, SeisOptŪ employs non-linear optimization
technology to derive a sophisticated
velocity model representing
earth structure. The automated nature of Optim technology allows our
Clients to produce a better seismic image, while increasing
efficiency and reducing costs.
There are several SeisOptŪ velocity optimization products available to meet your
specific seismic data processing needs. Click on the descriptions below
to get product specifications or download a demo movie to
experience the look and feel of SeisOptŪ. We will also be glad to
test process your data at
no charge. Email support@optimsoftware.com for more information.
SeisOptŪ ReMiTM:
Derive one-dimensional S-wave velocity from refraction
microtremor (noise) recordings using a typical seismograph
and standard refraction geophones.
ReMi can be used for:
ReMi can economically and efficiently determine the NEHRP
seismic soil classification at a site. It uses ambient
noise to determine average S-wave (shear-wave) soil velocities to
30m (100 ft) depth. These velocities are used to classify a building site with the IBC site class A through E.
Since it requires no artifical source ReMi is ideal for S-wave studies in urban areas and construction sites.
The IBC Code 2006 recommends determining the soil classification at all building sites. Until now, it has
not been economic for all builders to do so.
ReMi provides an inexpensive and efficient way for
all builders to meet the IBC recommendations.
In addition it can also be used for:

SeisOptŪ ProTM: Derive suburface
velocity strucutre from 2D data acquired along the
surface, down a bore-hole or any combination thereof.
Suitable for surface, cross-hole, and VSP-type surveys.
SeisOptŪ @2DTM: Derive subsurface
velocity structure from 2D, surface acquired seismic data.
SeisWulfTM personal cluster systemsTM:
Cluster computers offer the
earth science community cost-effective processing of large seismic data
sets at super-computing speeds. Optim offers cluster computers with the
option of having SeisOptŪ velocity optimization software pre-installed. If
your business is developing velocity models from seismic data with several
hundred to several thousand shot points, SCP can enable you to produce more
accurate velocity models, faster, while reducing overhead costs.
